Your first year of keeping bees will be full of surprises and questions. The tools and equipment can be unfamiliar, brood patterns a mystery and the thought of a putting 12,000 bees in a box can be daunting. In this course you will learn all about the challenges and rewards involved in a year in the life of a beekeeper.
This beginner level class will focus on getting your bees off to a great start and successfully managing them through their first year. We will cover bee biology, colony life cycle, setting up a hive, beekeeping equipment/tools, installing a package or nuc, feeding and pest control and much more.
